Von Oxford über Colchester nach Havering | From Oxford to Havering via Colchester
Am Montag, dem 15 Oktober, sind wir von Oxford nach Colchester gereist -- glücklicherweise kein weiter Weg. Abends haben wir die Show für Kirsty McGee und Mat Martin im Colchester Folk Club eröffnet. Es hat alles prima geklappt, und Heather hat ein paar Songs der beiden auf der Bodhran begleitet.
Nach einer ruhigen Nacht mit genug Schlaf, einem fettigen englischen Frühstück und einem Nickerchen (am besten, man nimmt alles an Schlaf mit, was man kriegen kann) haben wir Hedingham Castle besucht. Dort haben wir uns vorgestellt, wie das Leben als fahrender Sänger im Mittelalter gewesen sein muss, und beschlossen, dass Touren heuzutage gar nicht so schlecht ist. ;)
We left Oxford on Monday the 15th of October and went to Colchester -- luckily, not a very long drive. At the Colchester Folk Club we opened for Kirsty McGee and Mat Martin. It went really well, and Heather joined the two for a few songs on the Bodhran.
After a good night's sleep and loads of fried food for breakfast (oh, and another nap after breakfast, better sleep while you can) we went off to Hedingham Castle and tried to imagine what it must've been like as minstrels in medieval times. I think we concluded that being on tour these days is not so bad after all. ;)
